Thousand Hills Saturday Rugby

The thousand Hills Saturday fun rugby , is a rugby development program that aims to develop the skills of young rugby players both girls and boys through training session ,tag rugby for young boys and 7's games for the senior and junior teams .
These help for the games preparations , teach players basic skills , such as : - Running
- Passing 
- Handling 
- Tackling 
- Decision making etc.....

The second Saturday fun rugby event took place at Gatenga youth center on the 15/11/2014.
Games started at 11 am with fun tag rugby for the U-14 boys ,seconded by a fun 7's game for the Thousand Hills girls teams and the final score was 15-12 respectively. "We had a lot of fun and we would like to be participating every time the event is organized, we like the people , the ambiance , rugby is a great and family game , we were happy to be welcomed and I was very happy to score my first try in rugby !!!" Said ; Tober Femke who came with her friends from Muhanga to play and have fun.
The main game opposed the Thousand Hills senior team and the Junior team ie the U-19 Vs the over 19 boys. They played two games of 7's .
The first shown a great performance on both sides and ended with a win of the older boys by 12-7.
The second game was a do or die and was considered as the final . Players like Heritie Habimana , Isimbi Carlos, Irene Hakizimana , Rukondo Jackson, Jacques Bigirimana and Patrick Ikorukwishaka of the U-19 team shown that they will be truly hard to beat in the near future because they were outstanding during both games . But with the experience of Shema Serge, Nsengimana J.D'amour , Castro and Takuro Kawatsu of the senior team , it was clear that the young boys couldn't win the race, and again the second game ended by the lead of the senior boys 21-12.


The thousand Hills RFC , would therefore thank you all who made it happen , from players, to fans and Mr Andrew Kettlewell from UK for his contribution as a referee.
