RUGBY is more than a GAME in the land of thousand hills...

     

Today is a very good day for rugby especially in the land of thousand hills . The good thing about today is that , as the Rwanda rugby national team " THE SILVERBACKS" are preparing to defend the tittle of the CAR confederation cup that will take place in Kigali from 3rd to 7th June at Amahoro stadium.
I went to a training session at Gatenga youth center normally known as " kwa Carlos". A very nice place for sport for the youth . It was I first time to introduce  and officially start playing and training rugby . I am so thankful that the representative of this youth center who is the catholic church " DON BOSCO" offered such a wide and good field to use for rugby which is far better from the one we normally use at Rugunga .

We are very sure and very positive that we will achieve our goals which include to start a new team at the youth center, develop rugby within Kigali and all over the country and continue the development of the game in general.

As you will see on the photos , the field is wide and grassy and the place is full of young part people .

After the training , the " THOUSAND HILLS RUGBY" players decided to visit their colleague ( Habumugisha Moise" the best scumhalf in Rwanda, who recently broke his arm on a training session for the Silverbacks in Rugunga, ias I said , the field of play there is not for rugby, that is why this talented young player on contesting a high ball, he fell down and  knock his knee on the hard ground and breath his arm  "fracture" . After a successfull surgery , his doing fine and within 5 to 6 months , he will be better and his arm can probably be used again to serve great pass to his team mates.
The team went to visit him at the hospital, it was fantastic, and he was happy to see some players around him after that dangerous injury .
