It was a challenging game!! Lion de fer VS Kigali Sharks

As the rugby league continues,
On Saturday ,was another good game to watch.Many of the Lion de fer players and fans thought they will just walk through and get the points,they were saying this because of the first game that Sharks played against Buffaloes and lost 67-0.

But that was not the same for the Sharks side.
For them ,the aim was to defend their goal and win the game even though Lion de fer was technically strong.
The game started at 3:15 pm at the red cross field and the central referee was Darren from the UK who he is here as a Friends of  Rwanda rugby charity volunteer.

It was a surprise for the Lion de fer Fijian coach Simeli Mocevakaca because his team has really good pack players as well as back players,they were big and strong,but Sharks players were determined and were focusing on how to score a try against the big guys.
Sharks kept possession and the first half ended by 3-0,and Lion de fer could't understand it.
The second half was even so tight than the first half, the Lion de fer players wanted to beat the defense by using  big boys ,like their two Fijian back line players ,but the defense was outstanding.
Because of many offside mistakes by Sharks players,Lion de fer manage to get two penalties and one penalty try and Sharks got three more penalty to make 12 points and Lion de fer 13.
So the final score was 13-12.

As for other games,the Buffaloes team was travelling in the south to play against Muhanga Rugby club and Buffaloes won by 60-7,coming next week ,BUFFALOES VS LION DE FER, this is a game to watch...

Rugby 2012 league @ Amahoro national stadium

Saturday ,was the first day of the Rwanda rugby league.
The Remera Buffaloes was the host for the first game against the Kigali Sharks that started at 2:30 pm because of the second game that started just wright after this one and was another great game to watch,Lion de fer vs Muhanga rugby club.

As many of the rugby fans said,it was a great start for the host and a really entertaining game for people who where present at the stadium.

The Kigali Sharks defended their goal almost the whole time during the game,Gatabazi Juvenal and Nsengimana J.D'amour,made great and hard tackles because the Buffaloes players were attacking, wanted to win and were looking for any opportunity that is possible, used the gaps created by some of the new players and did make many break through by the forward players like the team captain Makombe Bejamin.

It was a great game for both sides, the Kigali Sharks did not have five of their key players who did not show up on the day of the game because of an unknown reason till now, so they did not have any replacement and actually started the game with 14 players and finished with 13,when their full back got injured.
Buffaloes won the game with 67- 0.
The game was fair and no many injuries for both sides.

Again, it was another opportunity for the rugby players and fans that the game was played at the national stadium because it is especially known as a soccer stadium only.

Sharks vs Muhanga ,a great friendly game!!

Yesterday in Muhanga , the Kigali Sharks rugby club had a friendly game against the Muhanga rugby team.

The game was organized by the host, and the reason of this was the preparation of the league that will start next week.The Muhaga team is trying it's best to attract many people as possible "and the good thing is that many of it's rugby team players are students from almost all the secondary schools in the area", said Muhire Livingstone who is the coach player, he also mentioned that they thank Alex Araire who is always spending some of his time in the south, helping, coaching and supporting them in many things.

As you all remember that the team did organized some sevens just recently, so they are trying to play many games and get the players used to contact and game situations.

The game started at 4 pm ,instead of 3 pm because of the weather,But then the referee Olivier Uwamahoro who also did help , decided to start the game.
It was raining from the start to the end of the game,  you can all understand or imagine how fun it was!
The first half ended by two  tries for Sharks scored by Gatera Issa & Gatabazi Juvenal and well converted by Nduwayezu E.Jason.

The second half started, the Muhanga team as well as their opponents were outstanding,trying to win, but the Kigali Sharks were too strong, players again like Nsengimana J.D'amour, Tuyisenge ,were very good in passing and some other back lines moves.
To finish, we can't also forget how the forward players were strong for both side like Ihirwe J de la paix ,Ngizwenayo Barnabe and Zibo of Sharks who scored one try each and Yassin and Haki Laurien of Muhanga.
The final score was 33-0


No indiscipline ,misconduct or even bad injuries,the game was fair and really friendly as you ca see on pictures.
