Do you think the Silverbacks will improve ,once they get standard rugby play ground?

The main problem in the Rwandan rugby is the luck of a nice field that players can use while having their training sessions and / or while preparing tournaments inside or outside the country like they do every year for the Hong Kong tours that is organised by Dave Hughes who is currently helping the silverbacks as a coach and team selector for this year's tour.

The play ground is also important for the players safety which is one of the key factors in the game of rugby because rugby is all about fun,fair play and also about assuring your and others safety so that every one will enjoy the game.Rugby is a great game that unites people from all over the world like other sports in general and every where player go to play in different competitions all though they have to focus on the game and how to win ,they also after that, learn about other people's culture and how rugby is done in other places. So that why players are competing to get on the list so they can go learn ,discover and have fun else where in "RUGBY CLUBS".  Where there is rugby,there is a rugby club! Where rugby fans,players, referees and other people can meet and talk about the game , have a drink together ,make friends ...etc.We need a rugby club in Rwanda and we also need your support to make it because Rwanda rugby has got fans but the big problem is where the fans will always see it,or where to direct some one who is asking about rugby .

THE REMERA BUFFALOES RFC, THIS YEAR'S BUFFALOES 7'S WINNER ...

After a hard game against Lion de fer on the final,Buffaloes 14-12 Lion de fer,they managed to keep their title of 6 times in row champions.The Buffaloes players tried their best from the first games when they played with Puma Rfc,Muhanga Rfc and UNR Grizzlies and scored against them in a very simple way and many supporters and rugby funs said that the teams which played against Buffaloes in the preliminaries were really weak and made it easy for the team organizing to get to the final.
The Kigali Sharks came 4th after loosing on a coin toss to UNR Grizzlies because they couldn't play,it was already dark! I think it is a bad time management.And some of the  players  were outstanding like,Cambara Coco Marcel from Lion de fer,Ignace from UNR Grizzlies,Djuma Adams from Sharks,Kevin Makmot from Buffaloes and many others.

It is a good idea from the teams in Rwanda to organize rugby events,because it helpes many people in our country to know about the game but also makes players to keep fit and improve  in their rugby skills as well as experience.Congratulation for the Buffaloes rugby club for getting the sponsorship from,SCANIA MOTORS ltd,AZAM and SULFO RWANDA INDUSTRIES,which is a big achievement for Rugby in Rwanda, but another big issue on Saturday was the luck of good ,experienced and/or qualified referees because all the referees and touch judges were buffaloes players which many people did complain about and also the luck of discipline for the Buffaloes representative and players to other team players which we hope that will be corrected in the future.We thank you all for your support,stay in touch.

WHICH TEAM DO YOU THINK WILL WIN THE BUFFALOES 7'S THIS TIME!

Saturday is 21st is the kick off,the Remera Buffaloes 7's sixth edition,is back ,all the teams are ready to defend the 5 times champions that is the team organizing (Buffaloes RFC).

Teams all over the country are focusing on the games on Saturday.Lion de fer from Nyamirambo,is really training hard to win this year's edition,  because they just won it for the first time, when the tournament was introduced ,the Kigali Sharks are also ready to confront other teams because they say that although other teams have got big players is not a problem for them,"7's a side is not about the size,is about being fit and smart enough  and you can easily win!" said the team captain,We can not forget the team organizing ,they also say that they are ready to defend their title of champions.And other teams as well want to show what they are able to do in the play ground,like the UNR Grizzlies ,Muhanga RFC,Puma from Kamonyi and others.You are all welcome to the Red cross play ground in Kacyiru from 10 am to 4 pm,and you will have fun and understand more about the game of rugby and it's development in our country!Another good thing ,is that the Hong Kong trips organizer and a passionate rugby player and who is helping the Rwanda rugby to get to a high level Dave Hughes,will also be there,he might play for the Kigali sharks which he always prefer to play for and will bring some journalist and a photographer who are working for a big MAGAZINE in the US,so they will have an opportunity to take pictures and write about rugby in Rwanda in such a big magazine!  Then people will know about it. It is another big step forward .keep it up silverbacks!!!

The rugby 7's series are back in 2012, abakunzi ba rugby mu Rwanda, muze mwihere amaso...

The Rwanda rugby federation is looking forward for the preparation of the 2012 seven a side series with lots of   changes. Some of the changes are : as the technical director Gerard Nsenga said,all the teams that are organizing 7's games every year as usual ,have  fixed fixtures of how the games will be played ,I mean how each will be following the other. So from the 21st of this month , it is the beginning of the series and the Buffaloes 7's will start and after two weeks will follow the Muhanga 7's if confirmed with the Muhanga rugby club currently coached with Muhire Livingstone,a very calm and nice guy who started his rugby career in high school where he was playing for the Groupe scolaire saint joseph de Kabgayi and he is still playing for his club in Muhanga where he believes that once confirmed,it will be a big step forward to the rugby team in the southern province. After the Muhanga 7's ,there will be a two weeks break again, then the Kigali Sharks 7's. We hope that the Rugby federation in Rwanda will be reliable this year. All the teams are training hard so they can perform well in all those  series. But also some of the players who are well known in 7's games like.Habumugisha  Moise (Sharks),Kamali Vincent (Buffaloes),Cambara Coco Marcel (Lion de fer),Ignace (UNR Grizzlies) ,Nzungu Emmanuel(Sharks) Lucien Bikamba (Buffaloes),Ngizwenayo Barnabe(Sharks),Uwamahoro Olivier (Lion de fer)  Djuma Adams Mugabo (Sharks) ,and so many others who are great for the 7's games!! You are all welcome with your friends and family to watch and enjoy ,rugby side and goose steps as well as the speed and fitness of the talented rugby players in Rwanda. MURAKAZA NEZA!!!
